Overview
We are looking for an experienced Building Manager to oversee the operational delivery of services to the High Wycombe Council Offices. This position sits within the Soft Facilities Management Team which is part of the Planning Growth & Sustainability Directorate.
Working locally with a current team of two caretaker/security staff and supported by the Facilities Management Team, you will manage the site, which includes both Council and private company multi-tenanted offices. You will plan and deliver a variety of essential operational Services for the organisation including post, cleaning, security, site maintenance, and operational Services. It is essential to provide this wide spectrum of services efficiently and effectively, so managerial ability combined with coordination and planning skills are essential for the role.
About the role
As the Facilities Building Manager at High Wycombe you will be the primary contact on all site-related matters. The workload is varied and with the return to work initiative post-pandemic and the ongoing development of services as we come together under the unitary process, there will be the challenge of constant change.
You will need an in-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation as it relates to managing office sites.
There is an expectation of a high level of customer care from all our staff, tenants and visitors so calmness under pressure is a must.
You will be required to deliver the Facilities Management service within a defined set of objectives but with the freedom to prioritise and decide locally how they are best delivered.
About you
If you are someone who is looking for a job that brings new challenges every day, that involves meeting people, allows you to use your initiative, and can think on your feet, then this is the one for you. This maybe an office-based job but sitting at your desk all day is not an option.
You will need to have had some previous experience of the role and bring with you relevant knowledge & skills. Training can and will be given to help you build on your skillsets but you must have the core abilities, enthusiasm, and the determination to deliver a customer-focused service.
