Supporting the Vice Chancellor and the Director of Strategic Estates, the post holder will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the University’s approach to space planning, utilisation and allocation proposals and proactive strategic and operational space management service aligned with medium term (five-year planning horizon) strategic direction that the post holder has informed. 

As a key member of the Estates and Facilities Leadership Team, the Head of Strategic Space Management will take the lead role in ensuring that the University optimises the utilisation of its 220,000 m2 estate portfolio. The Head of Strategic Space Management will also have line management responsibility for the Head of Space and Statistical Returns.

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience and a track record of successfully leading the development and implementation of space and workplace strategies at a senior and influential level.  

To be a success in the role you will need to be highly motivated and results-focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  The role calls for an individual who is able to gain the confidence of and successfully influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
