King Edward VII’s Hospital is an independent charitable hospital with a proud history of Royal Patronage, discreetly located within London’s Harley Street medical district. With just 56 beds, we offer truly personalised medical care that combines the world-leading expertise our patients demand with the impeccable standards of nursing care they deserve.
Our compassionate culture creates a peaceful, private and supportive environment, returning patients to everyday life with as little disruption as possible. As a charity we thrive on a spirit of philanthropy, with generous donations keeping us at the forefront of medical care and allowing us to provide the very best service to our patients. Our charitable conscience keeps us dedicated to providing the highest levels of subsidised care to Veterans of The Armed Forces.
We are currently undertaking significant development and embracing change. The Hospital has a main acute site and several other buildings housing consultancy rooms, outpatient services and office accommodation. As part of our ambitious new build programme, we are developing a new state of the art outpatient building and fourth theatre, which are due to become operational later in the financial year. Phase two of the redevelopment includes replacement of infrastructure, full ward refurbishments, imaging
replacement and the build of a new theatre.
As a result, we now require the experience of a skilled Director of Estates and Major Projects. We are looking for an individual with a strong track record of delivery, who can bring strong and effective strategic and operational leadership, drive and focus to the Hospital Estates, Facilities, and Capital redevelopment programme.
The postholder will be responsible for the oversight of the redevelopment works and its Capital Programme working closely with the Chief Executive, Director of Finance, Director of Operations and key Trustees. They will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with all statutory requirements and guidance in respect of estates, facilities management, health and safety, fire and capital works.
As a suitable candidate you will need to be able to rapidly understand the complex redevelopment programmes underway and planned. Supporting the smooth transfer of services across the new hospital will be an early but important priority. You will be able to work collaboratively and effectively, supporting the Hospital’s commitment to the highest standards of performance and to ensuring the success of current and future projects.
If you are as passionate as us about making a real difference and would like to help lead us on our exciting journey, then we would welcome your interest and application.
