We have an exciting new opportunity looking for a PACS Manager to join a large Acute Trust based in London for a 3 month initial contract.


Job Summary:

  • Oversee the day to day running of the Radiology IT systems e.g. PACS, CRIS,VNA;
  • Support the Associate Director of Imaging and Clinical Director with the digital IT strategy;
  • Produce information reports and statistics to ensure the effective running of the Imaging department;
  • Responsible for updating CRIS and PACS policy/protocols including contingency planning;
  • To ensure a seamless transition to the new PACS system by working with the ASPH/RSCH PACS Implementation Project manager;
  • Support and train the Imaging and Trust staff on PACS /CRIS;
  • Work in conjunction with the Associate Director for Imaging to improve service delivery and service improvement for the benefit of the patient.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Sufficient experience of working at senior Radiographer level;
  • Sufficient experience of working with hospital IT systems including PAS;
  • Management of Radiology IT Systems – RIS/PACS;
  • Broad experience in line management, team building, staff training and supervision;
  • Proven ability to deliver a high quality service;
  • Experience in writing procedures and protocols;
  • Evidence of innovative approaches and lateral thinking;
  • Experience of audit;
  • Experience of training, education and staff development initiatives;
  • Experience of developing contingency plans and risk strategies;
  • Expert knowledge of Radiology Information Systems and PACS within NHS climate;
  • Thorough knowledge of normal anatomy, physiology and pathology of plain film examinations;
  • Awareness and understanding of the impact of changes, developments and upgrades to the new PACS on the department /organisation;
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure within the health economy;
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety issues;
  • IT literate, including keyboarding skills;
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality;
  • Knowledge of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and E-mail.
