The University of Reading is seeking to appoint to the key post of Director, Maintenance Services to lead estates maintenance, infrastructure management and grounds management across the University’s operational estate portfolio.

Reporting to the Director of Estates, the Director, Maintenance Services is responsible for strategic and operational leadership of building and infrastructure maintenance, maintenance projects, grounds maintenance and estates business systems.  Taking leadership responsibility for a multi-disciplinary in-house team and external delivery partners, you will lead a strategic programme planning forward maintenance investment and ensure the University estate portfolio complies with relevant estate, built environment, safety and environmental legislation and best practice.

We are seeking an individual with experience and a proven track record in an estate leadership role across a large scale operational property portfolio.  You will be experienced in leading the development and execution of hard FM/estates maintenance strategies and the management of operational estates maintenance budgets.  The role calls for an individual with excellent leadership and management skills, a collaborative approach and who has a demonstrable commitment to leading continuous improvement resulting in high levels of service delivery.
