Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large NHS organisation as a Hotel Services Business & Performance Manager.

The post will be based in the North West, on an interim basis for 3 months.

The post holder will be responsible for all day-to-day aspects of the department, which include a number of in-house services and outsourced contracts.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head of Hotel Services in managing the delivery of efficient, high quality and cost-effective hotel services contracts and in-house services throughout the organisation;
  • Deputise for the Head of Hotel Services and work as an operational lead for PLACE;
  • Implement relevant standards and initiatives and have delegated lead responsibility for specifics;
  • Keep up to date with developments in the delivery of Hotel Services;
  • Develop suitable models of service delivery though research, networking and reviewing existing services in the context of a contractual backdrop;
  • Identify, understand, and apply complex statutory regulations, standards, and guidance, as applied to Hotel Services;
  • Supervise the Contract Monitoring & Liaison team, including conducting of reviews/revisions;
  • Assist in the planning and development of services, in line with the requirements of the NHS Plan initiatives such as Hospital Food Standards, and Standards of Cleanliness;
  • Formulate long-term strategic plans relating to Hotel Services, to enhance future service delivery across the organisation;
  • Line manage Linen Services, Accommodation Services, Receipt and Distribution departments;
  • Have lead responsibility for postal services;
  • Communicate with personnel on Hotel Services’ issues, and provide reports for the Head of Hotel Services as required;
  • Present to large groups using technical language associated with provision of services;
  • Communicate with departmental teams, lead, and involve staff in service changes/ initiatives;
  • Assist the Head of Hotel Services in managing major service changes, consulting with users and staff, promoting positive change;
  • Support the Head of Hotel Services in planning and developing services to meet the organisational objectives;
  • Aid the Head of Hotel Services with budgetary control, in line with the organisation’s Standing Order & Standing Financial Instructions and provide the Head of Hotel Services with appropriate data routinely.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Substantial experience in Facilities/ Hotel Services;
  • Proven experience of multi-site, multi service operation;
  • Experience of tendering;
  • Demonstratable experience of planning for a new build;
  • Knowledge of Facilities legislation and guidance;
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, a facilitator, self-motivated able to work without close supervision.
