We are seeking an individual to join our customer focused Estates and Campus Services department in the new post of Health and Safety Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Estates and Campus Services, the successful candidate will be the health and safety responsible person for Arts University Bournemouth, ensuring that all AUB staff, students, contractors, suppliers and visitors experience a safe and Health and Safety compliant university estate.

You will proactively manage the delivery of Health and Safety, within the Health and Safety framework, to support the day-to-day operations of the university and delivery of AUB Strategy 2030. Current knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and regulations and application of these to the operations of AUB and future planning is crucial responsibility of the role.  

Educated to degree level, and with NEBOSH diploma qualification, you will be an experienced and motivated health and safety professional with a proven track record in delivering a customer focused Health and Safety function. Experience of managing relationships with relevant stakeholders and the embedding user-friendly Health and Safety systems is a vital requirement of the role.

Understanding of areas outside of Health and Safety at AUB will be important, particularly AUB’s environment and sustainability objectives with constant consideration of how Health and Safety can align to these ambitions.

You will also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong presenting and reporting skills that will be required in the relationship with senior and governing members of AUB.
