The Coventry University Group is known for providing a ground-breaking high-quality learning experience for all of its students. We deliver research which is focussed on “excellence with impact” in areas of niche dominance. We have a commitment to internationalisation in student recruitment, partnership, and collaborative working, alongside a global curriculum and staff and student mobility; and a real “business engaged” model of enterprise and innovation.

Coventry Enterprises (CUE), a subsidiary of the wider University Group, is an organisation that runs much of the Groups commercial, income-generating and business-partnership work. This includes the award-winning Technology Park; its purpose-built conference centre; thefutureworks (a commercial recruitment agency); and FutureLets (a property agency that markets and lets good quality private accommodation).

Operating in a regional, national, European, and international context, CUE supports the corporate aims and seeks to maximise the commercial potential of the Groups skills, expertise, and resources. CUE focuses on innovation, design, high performance automotive engineering, health, environment, and ICT as areas of expertise. Through this activity it has to date supported thousands of Small-to-Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) through specific projects and support programmes. More than 200 SMEs have been established with the support of CUE and many more have benefited from one-to-one involvement.

It is in this context that CUE is looking to appoint a Managing Director of Property, Facilities & Infrastructure Management. This person will provide strategic leadership and direction to develop the Groups built and digital estate across the UK and overseas. At the heart of the Groups goal is to create an innovative and imaginative approach to place making which runs alongside its ambition to create the best innovative education and undertake impactful research, as well as providing an environment that supports excellence for its staff and students.

To deliver the above, we are seeking an inspirational leader, with the requisite intellectual capacity, commercial acumen, strategic expertise, and track record of delivery, to provide strategic vision and expertise in facilities management and estates. The successful candidate will have experience within the property/FM industry at a senior and strategic level in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams. They will have extensive experience in strategic management and leadership within a high pressured and fast paced environment and will have extensive leadership and change management experience. They will have first class communication skills and the ability to inspire and influence colleagues, to work at pace and to thrive in a dynamic environment.

As part of our values, we recognise the dignity and worth of every individual and value every member of the Group. We are an equal opportunities employer, and we would particularly welcome applications by candidates from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, candidates of all genders and disabled candidates.
