Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of the client for the role of Operations Engineer who will be a key member of the team for operational activities. This included planned and reactive maintenance as well as ensuring statutory compliance, preparing for events and functions.

The team prides itself on the achievement of exceptional standards and strives to be a centre of excellence providing advice on the upkeep of historic buildings.

About You

You may be educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline as an Engineer but this is not essential as you have ideally will have experience of managing and maintaining historic/ listed buildings.

You are technically competent and take a logical approach to the maintenance and repair of traditional buildings.

You communication skills will be useful when you liaise with stakeholders and work collaboratively with your colleagues.

You have experience of control and contract management.

Your Responsibilities

You will be expected to make day-to-day decisions without referral but will refer policy, strategic or non-routine issues to the Head of the Department.

In this role you will be responsible for the modernisation, repair and maintenance of the built services across the estate which will include the delivery of projects form the annual works programmes and as required.

You will be responsible for end-end management of a range of works with a varying scope and scale.

You will ensure compliance with statutory duties and legislative requirements and that associated policies and procedures (internal and external) are known and adhered to while promoting a culture of risk awareness and management.

As part of this role you will ensure works are procured in the most cost-effective manner in order to achieve excellent value for money this will be part of you monitoring the performance of consultants and contractors to ensure works are completed within budget, on time and to the required standard.
