Boden Group are delighted to be working with a Multi Academy Trust to assist them in finding an Estates & Facilities Business Partner.

This role will work alongside the Estates and Facilities Manager as you work towards a new management plan of centralising facilities across the trusts (12 sites). This is a newly created role and will be focusing on partnerships, contracts, and relationships with new and existing businesses.

Your main purpose of the role will be to provide support and leadership daily across the academies and their premises while supporting the site managers along with individual site teams. This will be dealing with school caretakers and maintenance personnel.

Due to the nature of the environment, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and children which means for this role or any other role at the academy trust you will need to be fully DBS checked (prior to starting).

Key responsibilities:

  • Meeting with Headteachers/Heads of School regularly.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor academy estate management plans in conjunction with Headteachers and the Estates & Facilities Manager.
  • Attend relevant meetings including and senior leader meetings when required to present estates information.
  • To contribute to the achievement of the educational vision for the academies.
  • To be responsible directly to the Estates & Facilities Manager for all estates procedures in across the primary hubs.
  • To control, monitor and evaluate the academies’ estates procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and other requirements and ensuring value for money.
  • To work with the Finance Business Partners to manage the estates maintenance and improvement budgets and ensure all financial procedures are adhered to in the award of contracts and services.
  • To ensure there is a full suite of risk assessments available for each academy site.
  • To ensure the effective implementation and operation of health and safety controls within the academies and support site staff in identifying and resolving local issues.
  • Maintain plans of the buildings and grounds including locations of call points, fire protection and fire-fighting equipment, emergency shut offs, stopcocks, and meters.
  • Line manage academy-based Site Managers/Supervisors.
  • Report local issues to the Estates & facilities Manager.
  • Carry out spot checks and audits on cleaning, catering and site supervision within primary academies including the use of Parago.
  • Analyse and evaluate energy performance across the primary estate.
  • Manage estates projects including developing project plans, procurement, and delivery on behalf of the Trust as directed by the Estates & Facilities Manager.
