Job Details

We have an exciting new opportunity looking for 2x Web Application Developers for a 3 month contract role that can be worked fully remotely.

Job Purpose:

A large established NHS organisation require two web developers to update and modernise the STREAM and EAS web applications used by clinicians in order to provide resilience and additional functionality that has been requested by the clinicians.

The role will be fully remote, except for a requirement that the candidates attend on site on their first and last day to collect and return equipment.

Key Skills/Experience:

The developer will be required to work with pre-existing web applications in order to make changes to add new functionality and, where identified refactor the applications in order to make them more maintainable. The applications consist of the following technologies:

  • SQL Server backend databases;
  • Microsoft Entity Framework (not code first);
  • Microsoft ASP.NET MVC using Razor engine, JQuery and Bootstrap;
  • Links to multiple Patient Administration Systems(PAS) using ADO.Net;
  • C# server side code, JavaScript client side code;
  • Single page web applications;
  • AJAX.

The applications currently don’t employ JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular but these will be considered with any refactoring work so experience of these frameworks would be an advantage.

Applications Background:

The application allows clinicians to allocate patients to beds and to record any actions that need to be undertaken for patients and track the progress of these actions. This is a single page web application using JavaScript to show and hide sections of the page in order to build a responsive client side application, and is already a single instance across the 3 PAS systems. A number of changes have been identified to extend the application and a developer is required to make these changes.
