Finegreen are working with an NHS organisation in London who are looking to appoint a Multi-skilled Operative Lead - Mechanical / Fitter. This role will be for 12 months with an hourly rate of £24.32 inside IR35 (through an umbrella solution).
The post holder will provide professional and technical expertise to create, operate and maintain safe, efficient systems for all mechanical services.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Act as a competent person for Water Safety and the management of Legionella bacteria and champion the reduction of water uses throughout the site;
- Work in accordance and carry out approved and competent duties with the requirements of HTM03-01, Gas Safety Regulations and other Mechanical Engineering plant and services guidance’s;
- Assist the external authorising engineer (Heating, Ventilation and Gas) in the management of in house and outsourced mechanical and engineering installations;
- Ensure safe systems of work, risk assessments and good practice expectations are adhered to and that these are checked prior to work starting;
- Access and interpret drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals;
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in mechanical systems and associated plant, equipment, and services. Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Plant and Controls, Catering Equipment, Gas Installations and various other Plant and Machinery;
- Undertake regular Health and Safety audits and reviews to ensure high standards of Health and Safety compliance are always maintained by staff and Contractors;
- Maintain and update maintenance records.
- Experience within the NHS/ a healthcare setting;
- Recognised mechanical or gas apprenticeship or other approved training scheme plus relevant experience;
- City & Guilds certificate or NVQ Level 3 or other recognised course at the appropriate level.;
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with all types of mechanical and gas installations;
- Demonstrate sound technical mechanical knowledge;
- Logical and systematic thinker with excellent report writing skills.
