Are you an experienced facilities management professional looking for a new challenge?

We are looking for you to join us on a 12-month temporary basis to support our Workspace and Facilities Management team. You’ll be joining a team of 11 individuals who make up the wider Workspace & FM team.

As one of three Workspace & Facilities Managers, you will be responsible for a network of virtual and physical workspaces, the facilities management service and health & safety compliance within our physical spaces and the workspace experience for all colleagues within your area of responsibility. The workspaces are a mixture of hub & spoke offices, operational units, yards, and Independent Living scheme Hub offices.

You will be responsible for both the hard and soft service contracts, with the support of your team in addition to the large scale building churn projects over the next 12 months; you’ll be responsible for managing complex contracts including the procurement, project management, and close down of projects ensuring they are delivered on time and in budget.

You’ll support key business transformation projects such as Right Spaces Right Places and will support our flexible working approach delivering and installing home working equipment to our colleagues as required.

You’ll predominantly be based across Hampshire & Wiltshire but may need to cover other regions as and when required to support business need.

About you

First and foremost, you’ll have demonstrable experience working in a facilities management discipline with experience managing contracts, budgets and multi-faceted projects.

You’ll understand the importance of customer service and will put our colleagues and customers at the heart of everything you do to truly enable them to have a great day at work. You’ll lead and manage a team so coaching will be your natural leadership style and you’ll have experience motivating and engaging a team in a remote setting. You’ll be confident supporting colleagues through change and will be able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of our colleagues.

You’ll be working with competing and fluctuating workloads and demands so will be confident juggling a workload, being able to prioritise and organise your workload accordingly. We are always open to new ways of working so you’ll be open to adapting your approach and coming up with new ways of working that make us more efficient and drive an excellent customer service.

You’ll need to travel across our operating areas of Hampshire & Wiltshire predominantly so will need access to a vehicle for work purposes and hold a full, UK driving licence.

About Aster Group

Now is a really exciting time to join us. We’re working towards our vision of everyone has a home. It’s a bold statement but one everyone across our business is passionate about.  What we do enables better lives.  We provide safety and security through a range of housing and services.  We will continue to grow so we can maximise our impact.  Our strengths are our people and our culture.  We believe that work isn’t somewhere you go, it’s something you do. No two days are the same here, and agile working is the norm rather than the exception.

We’re on an exciting transformation journey. Our business strategy is clear. Our vision is bold. And what sets us apart is The Aster Way. The Aster Way is not just a set of words. It’s a shared understanding of the way we work – creating a fair and inclusive culture. It’s a set of straightforward principles that underpin everything we do, every day. From how we lead and learn, to how we collaborate, communicate and innovate, this is how we’ll reach our vision - that everyone has a home.  Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, so we expect all our colleagues to be motivated and inspired to deliver a positive customer experience.

We supply a wide range of housing options in response to the housing crisis, working towards our vision of ensuring everyone has a home. Our not-for-dividend business has roots dating as far back as the mid-1920s when Cecil Homes, (part of Central and Cecil who we merged with in 2022) was formed. We have £2 billion worth of assets and plan to invest £2.5 billion to deliver 12,000 new homes by 2030. We forecast delivering over 1,100 homes during the current financial year (2021/22) across all tenures. The Group reinvests profits from open market sale and shared ownership to support the development of affordable rented homes. We own and maintain over 34,500 homes and employ more than 1,720 people. Our corporate social responsibility commitments set out the additional work our business chooses to do. For more information, visit www.aster.co.uk.
