Founded in 1875, Haberdashers’ Girls and Boys Schools (Habs) are leading independent day schools for pupils aged 4 to 18. The schools are located on a shared campus in Elstree, providing the best of both worlds; a single-sex education in a co-educational environment. The Role

Habs is seeking to appoint a Director of Estates and Operations. This central function will be tasked with leading, developing and ensuring efficient utilisation of the Estates and Facilities team, which includes Estates Management, Grounds, Transport, Cleaning Services and Catering Operations.

As a conduit between the Schools, you will provide strategic leadership and implement new and innovative approaches to ensure greater efficiencies and the highest quality of delivery - all of which will be underpinned by a strong service ethos.

Reporting to the COO, you will ensure the department is aligned to the broader objectives and visions of Habs, as well as the masterplanning. The post requires strategic vision, management expertise and practical experience, it will also carry with it substantial budgetary responsibility. The successful candidate will possess demonstrable experience of leading an estate across a comparable diverse portfolio and will ideally hold a relevant estates, property or facilities qualification.

You will be a strong communicator with extensive experience of instilling robust and efficient systems and processes to ensure operational effectiveness across a large in-house team. Additionally, the post holder will be expected to provide effective leadership and management on all Health, Safety & Environmental matters.
