Finegreen are supporting an NHS organisation to appoint a Small Works Project Coordinator.

The post is based in the South West of the UK, for an interim period of 3 months with the potential to be permanent afterwards, with an hourly rate of £21.21 inside IR35 through an Umbrella Solution.

The post holder will be responsible for minor works (below £10k), gather quotations from contractors, prepare quotations, and safely manage and organises the works.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure that designated schemes are delivered within cost and time targets;
  • Lead the management of small work procurement up to an agreed value utilising in house labour or approved contractors as necessary;
  • Prepare quotations, place orders and manage delegated Small Works enquiries;
  • Maintain records of all small work activity;
  • Act as authorised signatory of payments to contractors, suppliers and in signing off direct labour costs;
  • Direct the efforts of the Small Works team with support from the Service Co-ordinators to ensure that the departments key performance indicators (KPI’s) are met;
  • Take responsibility and ownership for the jobs assigned to them as part of the Estates escalation process ensuring a timely and satisfactory resolution;
  • Liaise and organise contractors for Small Works jobs as required;
  • Arrange for quotations with contactors if services cannot be provided in house, in line with the Trust’s purchasing and procurement processes;
  • Support the gathering, monitoring, and presenting Estates Small Works data in order to determine and implement the most appropriate courses of action;
  • Provide appropriate technical advice on maintenance to staff, contractors, consultants, and design teams;
  • Identify, assess and inform the organisation of pertinent changes in legislation, guidance, and best practice affecting the system..
The ideal candidate will have:
  • HNC/BTEC/HND – plus relevant experience or equivalent training and experience;
  • Significant experience having demonstrated high versatility and flexibility;
  • Knowledge of maintenance methodologies;
  • Values and respects others, treats everyone as an individual, is non-judgemental;
  • Highly organised.
