Job Details

Finegreen are currently supporting a large NHS organisation, looking to appoint an Estates Maintenance Manager.

The role is a Band 7 agenda for change appointment, my client would also consider candidates who are currently working at the senior end of Band 6 if they have some team management experience.

Summary of the appointment:
  • Responsible for managing engineering, Building & Fabric planned and reactive maintenance schedules with directly employed and contracted staff to meet with statutory and mandatory requirements;
  • Specify and manage small works and maintenance projects as assigned by the senior Estates Team up to agreed values;
  • Liaise effectively with the wider Estates Team and Trust representatives to prepare technical specifications using BS, EN, Industry best practice and HTM guidance for competitive quotation and or tender;
  • Based on costings, ability to carry out tender analysis of returns and make recommendations on appointments of suppliers.
  • On placement of contracts, be responsible for contract delivery through to completion and handover along with account financial management through to invoicing;
  • Responsible for maintaining the standards and quality assurance documentation;
  • Implement and improve on the Estates planned and reactive maintenance regimes using the Trust systems and internal operating systems;
  • Delivery of statutory, mandatory and routine maintenance of all Trust building services plant and equipment;
  • Management of sub-contracted services to ensure delivery and continuity of specified requirements;
  • To track and monitor in-house revenue and contract budget expenditures.
Essential Requirements for the post:
  • BTEC/HNC/ONC qualification in one of the following disciplines – Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Electrical Engineering or Building Construction;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a multi-disciplined maintenance organisation, preferably within a healthcare environment;
  • Ability to supervise others when required, including external contractors;
  • Good communicator with ability to direct and motivate others;
  • Full Current Driving License, do not need to be a car owner.
