Job Details

Finegreen are working with an NHS organisation in the East of England, assisting with the recruitment of a Head of Operation Estates. This is a permanent post which will require on-site working with a salary between £58,079 - £79,189 per annum.

The post holder will lead on the organisation’s infrastructure for Hard FM functions, ensuring high quality, safe and value for money services are provided.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • To act as a single point of contact for all related Estates Operational matters on a daily basis;
  • The role will be responsible for the operational management of building and engineering services, including staff supervision;
  • Provide a first-class Estates Service in collaboration with other Estates and Facilities Department Leads;
  • Responsible for condition surveys, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring the provision of training for all staff and stakeholders is provided and required by statute and NHS guidance;
  • Proved technical advice and support to the Project Management team, ensuring projects are compliant with HTM, HBN, and other relevant statutory and organisation requirements;
  • Lead the maintenance of the organisation’s Estate and the improvement of its physical environment;
  • Co-ordinate all maintenance contracts and provide specialist engineering services across the organisation and through service level agreements to the Departments;
  • Provide detailed reports on service performance to the Head of Estate Operations for Health and Safety, Infection Control and Water Management;
  • Management and responsibility for substantial budgets for the provision of Estates maintenance services.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Must have experience working within an NHS/ a healthcare organisation;
  • Educated to master’s degree level or equivalent experience in engineering, building services or construction project management;
  • Experience acting as a responsible person and overseeing Estates Officers;
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety, complex engineering systems and maintenance procedures within a healthcare site;
  • Understanding of risk management and able to write detailed reports;
  • Ability to manage, meet priorities and tight deadlines;
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent IT skills.
