Director of Energy and Environmental Sustainability
London, with a hybrid working approach

University Partnerships Programme (UPP), the leading infrastructure and services partner to UK Universities, is seeking to appoint a Director of Energy & Environmental Sustainability.  This is a senior leadership position with accountability for developing and leading on UPP’s Energy and Sustainability strategies ensuring that UPP continues towards becoming a sector leader for energy and environmental sustainability.  

UPP is the UK’s leading provider of on-campus residential and academic accommodation infrastructure, operating over 35,000 rooms in partnership with 15 world-leading universities across the UK. We have launched our ambitious Building Futures strategy and are mobilising to deliver this at pace. 

The Director of Energy and Environmental Sustainability will build and manage relationships with our senior leaders and partners ensuring energy and environmental sustainability strategies, policy and plans are integrated effectively across all that we do.   Working closely with the business development team, you will position energy management and environmental sustainability at the heart of our core offer, representing UPP at relevant sector events and as a key figure in our work winning dialogues.

You will lead on energy and utilities strategy and management across our portfolio ensuring that directly and indirectly procured utilities are cost optimised, and their supply arrangements are stable and secure.  The role calls for exceptional influencing skills, and you will drive our environmental agenda across the key business value areas, ensuring we meet our commitments and objectives.
