Building & Services Manager

St Benedict’s is London’s leading independent, Catholic, co-educational school. The school is a successful blend of the traditional and the progressive; proud of its heritage but also forward thinking and innovative. Within a caring, happy community, our pupils thrive, benefiting from a seamless education which can begin at the age of 3 and continue through to the Sixth Form across 2 different sites. With their continued growth, they are seeking a proactive and driven Building & Services Manager to join the Estates team.

Working closely with the Estates Director, you will have the opportunity to work closely to deliver the maintenance strategy. You will play a lead role with our in-house & contracted teams, across all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance, including minor works and renewals. In addition, you will play a key role in a number of energy efficiency programmes and so to have a proven track record in the management of a similar 'Technical Client' function across a comparable estate is therefore essential. You will have a strong understanding of M&E plant with an in-depth knowledge of statutory compliance.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are prerequisite traits, as is the ability to work in a collaborative and customer-focused manner, ideally within a school environment.  You will possess excellent technical skills with a recognised professional engineering/building services qualification and corporate membership of a relevant body.  This role will suit a professional with experience across diverse estates, who is adept in delivering ‘best in class’ services in similar consumer-led environments.

For a confidential briefing discussion please contact our advisors Melanie Pye or Hayley Mintern of The Management Recruitment Group.

Closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 11th December 2022

Interview Dates: Tuesday 13th & Wednesday 14th December 2022

The Management Recruitment Group has been retained, as our exclusive advisor for this appointment and any third party or direct applications will be forwarded to them.

St Benedict’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils and expects all employees to share this commitment. All employees must be willing to undergo child protection training and screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
