Finegreen are supporting an NHS organisation in the East of England to appoint a Senior Estates Manager – Engineering.

The post will be for an interim period of 3 – 6 months initially with a view to go permanent. The hourly rate will be £41.13 inside IR35, through an Umbrella Solution company.

The post holder will lead on a range of estates functions with specific responsibility for the control and management of building engineering services and energy.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure that mechanical and electrical engineering installations are designed in accordance with all relevant legislation and guidance, achieving the highest possible standards and value for money;
  • Contribute to the formulation of the organisation’s Estate Strategy, in particular to advise on relevant engineering aspects of the development of the estate in accordance with the organisation’s Service Development Strategy;
  • Provide professional and technical engineering advice and information as required;
  • Authority to access any area of the site at all times and must exercise this authority with care so as not to endanger their own or others health and safety;
  • Development of a capital program for the organisation taking in to account relevant legislation and guidance, the organisation’s Estate and Energy Strategies, the condition of existing assets and any other relevant criteria;
  • Assist and advise other project and scheme leads where required on all engineering aspects of capital projects and works schemes;
  • Contribute to the Development of long-term plant replacement program for Engineering Systems;
  • Contribute to the management all statutory and general records of engineering plant and services in accordance with the requirements of the Health & safety at Work Act 1974, Factories Act, etc;
  • Carry out risk assessments and draw up action plans to mitigate risk on estate maintenance issues;
  • Interpret legislative guidance and put in place measures to achieve compliance.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • The ideal contractor will have experience working within the NHS/ a healthcare setting;
  • Degree in Engineering discipline or appropriate experience;
  • MSc in Engineering discipline or equivalent engineering experience;
  • Extensive experience of technical services including Planned Preventative maintenance;
  • Able to work hands-on, and manage teams;
  • Good communication and writing skills.
