Finegreen are supporting an NHS organisation in the East of England to appoint a Lead Capital Project Officer.

This role is a permanent position and will be working to a band 7, £41,659 - £47,672 per annum depending on experience, with an NHS pension and generous annual leave. The ideal candidate will be expected to have their own transport and the ability to travel between the organisation’s sites.

The post holder will deliver and manage comprehensive project management support to all properties within the organisation and contribute when required to organisation wide issues, to ensure that maximum benefit is derived from such assets that they provide a safe, secure and pleasant environment which supports and enhances the delivery of care to patients.

They will assist in the management of the Estate in a professional and economical manner and in accordance with all legislation and guidance from NHS Estates. Proactively contribute to the attaining and retention of ISO9001 and ISO14001 and be actively involved in all such initiatives relating to the post holders sphere of influence.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • A key member of the Capital Services Team ensuring building fabric, grounds, engineering services, plant and equipment are effectively developed through capital and revenue funding;
  • Carry out surveys and detailed design of designated capital and revenue projects and manage the upkeep of AutoCAD drawings database;
  • Contribute to the delivery of Estate Management to all areas of the organisation, with specialist construction related support to ensure the effective provision of a high standard of built care environment;
  • Provide project management services for a variety of capital and estates associated schemes to organisation properties ensuring completion, to budget, timescale and to consistent high quality;
  • Project plan and manage multiple schemes ensuring completion to budget, timescale and to consistent quality, incorporating the management of internal and external employees, consultants and contractors;
  • Ensure short, medium and long term strategy is implemented to ensure sustainability of estates facilities across multiple sites;
  • Work with and provide support to managers and clinicians. Engage with them in the development of the Estates strategy and capital programme, to support them and the patient’s needs;
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to subordinate staff to ensure the overall delivery of project work is completed within time and budget.;
  • Assist the Senior Project Manager with the project management of schemes ensuring completion, to budget, timescale and to consistent quality;
  • Carry out measured surveys and produce proposal layout and detail CAD drawings in connection with others or own schemes;
  • Have a duty of care for health, safety and welfare of site personnel, staff, patient, and visitors during construction of capital projects.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • HNC level in building/engineering/project management or HND/HNC with relevant experience;
  • Experience in construction or engineering project management;
  • Managing multiple construction projects concurrently;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Able to analyse complex information and place same in an operational context.
