About the role

The Estates Operations Team are seeking a Technical Services and Compliance Manager. Working in the Estates, Projects and Masterplanning department and in collaboration with Science and Engagement divisions, the role contributes significantly to ensuring the safety of the Museums c.900 employees as well as the compliance and condition of its technical infrastructure and equipment, thus enabling important scientific work as well as the care and public presentation of the Museum’s collection.

The position presents an opportunity for an individual with the right expertise, experience and approach to become the Museum’s in-house expert on systems including HVAC and electrical. You will provide a level of technical assurance whilst improving systems and providing guidance on asset management, Capital development, contracted work and compliance. We are proud to supervise a complex and fascinating heritage site and are looking forward to adding a new member to join us in its custodianship.

About you

You will have an HNC/HND in building services or mechanical/electrical engineering/ HVAC or equivalent such as City and Guilds heating and ventilation, electrical or gas installation, and hold  an IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualification. Accreditation/membership of professional body such as BIFM or CIBSE would be an advantage.

Ideally you will have experience of working in a similar role in a multi-disciplinary environment, ideally within a large public sector institution preferably within grade 1 or grade 2 listed building. You will have knowledge of relevant statutory UK/EU legislation, policies and procedures applicable to facilities management and building services, with relevant experience of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 and L8 Water regulations

You will have proven experience and knowledge of planned preventative maintenance, repair and planned replacement of HV, M&E, HVAC, Asbestos removal and Management, water and fire safety systems.
