The Goldsmiths’ Centre, the leading UK charity for the professional training of goldsmiths, is looking for an experienced hands-on Facilities Manager. The Centre is based in a Grade 2 listed school building in Clerkenwell, London, and brings together managed workspace, event and exhibition spaces, a café and training workshops in one award winning site. It is a busy hub for the jewellery industry and the local community and hosts approximately 100 resident craftspeople in addition to the students and apprentices trained onsite.
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the building including security, planned and ad hoc maintenance, health & safety, services and facilities management as well as the account management of the tenanted areas.
The successful individual will be a versatile and enthusiastic team player with excellent inter-personal skills and an ability to adapt to dealing with a wide variety of people and organisations. A natural communicator, orally and in writing, the Facilities Manager will be self-motivated to manage the Centre’s supporting services, ensuring it remains a first-class well-maintained building. A working knowledge of building management systems, basic accounting practices, contracting arrangements and IT systems are considered to be essential attributes for the post holder.
An affinity with the creative industries and an understanding of creative processes is desirable. You will enjoy working alongside colleagues and craftspeople to support the exciting community that is the Goldsmiths’ Centre.
We are offering a salary of up to £50,000 pa (subject to skills and experience) together with a competitive benefits package.
