Facilities Management is part of the wider Estates and Facilities Management Service (EFMS) that is responsible for the development, operations, and maintenance of the University's estate and related services.

Through our activities, we seek effectiveness, efficiency, and value for money in respect of all activities undertaken and all services provided to maximise client satisfaction and improve the student experience. We also monitor and react to the potential impact of estate development and facilities provision on the local community and environment.

Our Sustainability Strategy developed around the EAUC Life in Future Environments model and seeks to drive Sustainability through Leadership and Governance, Estates and Operations, Learning, Teaching and Research, and Partnership and Engagement.

We are looking for an experienced Environmental leader and communicator ideally with HE experience or knowledge who will take responsibility for all environmental and energy matters within the University including cost and energy saving, finance, budgeting, utility procurement and regulatory compliance alongside taking the initiative in the continuous development of the University’s environmental strategy, EMS (ISO 14001/Eco-Campus), creating plans and bringing about improvements in environmental and energy performance to help the University meet its target of reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2031 and achieve net zero emissions by 2040.

As the university’s Environmental lead, you will be expected to take ownership of initiatives, attend and chair committees, create reports, strategy and policy papers and work closely with various internal and external stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate they can manage and support a small team offering guidance and support alongside building collaborative relationships at all levels to achieve local and University wide community objectives.
