Engineering Manager, Contracts & Remote Sites


The Engineering Manager, Contracts & Remote Sites is an integral role to our engineering and maintenance operation and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of contracts and resources within Knightsbridge and across the Harrods portfolio. The purpose of the role is to provide a peer engineering overview of all projects undertaken within the Knightsbridge store, linked buildings and remote sites, ensuring correctness of design, installation, commissioning, and record documentation. You will manage and lead the team, helping them to achieve their objectives, and you will support the day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance programme.

Our Engineering Management teams play a key role in management of escalations and supporting the projects of our planned openings for new national store openings across the UK.  This is an exciting role that will ensure the consistency in standards and operations between our Knightsbridge flagship operation to our remote sites as well as driving the delivery through our trusted 3rd party partners.

About You

You will possess a good all-round knowledge of engineering and building services and be an experienced task-manager with experience of leading projects and being the point of contact between the client and 3rd parties of construction, engineering and maintenance projects. You will be suitably qualified and possess technical knowledge and experience of similar complex engineering systems to those found at Harrods. 

The ability to work on own initiative, adapt to changing situations and remain calm/effective when under pressure is required, as well as the ability to effectively respond to faults & rectify problems related to relevant systems. Importantly, you will demonstrate the ability to act with urgency is a fast-paced environment.
