Finegreen are currently recruiting for an Senior Engineering Site Lead to work in London for a large NHS organisation.

This is an interim position for 5 months initially with an hourly rate of £64.45, working inside IR35 and through an Umbrella Solution company.

The post holder will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for all engineering works undertaken, supporting the Director of Engineering in delivering all Strategic objectives, including the co-ordination of capital, project and back-log programmes.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide leadership and direction in the event of any major incidents that have an engineering dimension to the cause and/or resolution, even to the extent of taking control should the impact be of a serious nature, in the absence of the Director of Engineering;
  • Ensuring all technical standards, including engineering excellence and patient safety is at the forefront of Engineering delivery, through a process of structured accountability and compliance;
  • Provides strong individual and professional leadership through advice and guidance, supporting staff, colleagues and partners, through a visionary, motivational and problem solving approach;
  • Ensuring engineering maintenance and projects on all sites, including contract work, is carried out to appropriate standards and specifications and in accordance with Health and Safety legislation as well as adhering to Essentia standards and processes;
  • Overall responsibility for delegated areas and provide a structure and process for the effective interface with all project activities to ensure that appropriate communications, safety arrangements and operating procedures are in place, and are timely and effective;
  • Provide regular reports to Directorate and Trust Board and /or committees reflecting technical issues affective performance in the delivery of the engineering service.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Must have experience working within the NHS/a healthcare setting;
  • Engineering qualification/Trained;
  • Senior management expertise, able to deputise as the Director of Engineering if required;
  • Work with senior managers with in depth review and investigation of incidents, leading on Engineering and infrastructure area;
  • Joint accountability for a number of areas of  the infrastructure, including construction and maintenance of specific aspects of the estate;
  • Lead service improvements, particularly where these involve changing attitudes or culture;
  • Excellent communication, technical ability and leadership skills.
